What Would a Giannis Antetokounmpo-to-Warriors Trade Look Like? Bucks Insider Reveals Potential Framework

A Milwaukee Bucks insider broke down the framework of what a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to the Golden State Warriors would look like.

Despite the Milwaukee Bucks already ruling out trading Giannis Antetokounmpo this season, many NBA teams and analysts are still watching the possibility.

There’s only a week remaining until the NBA trade deadline, and Antetokounmpo remains one of the biggest names in the trade rumor mill. There are several speculations that he could play for the Miami Heat, while other reports suggest that Giannis would much rather play for the New York Knicks. However, another suitor could acquire the Greek Freak. A Bucks insider revealed what that potential trade could look like.

Could Giannis Antetokounmpo Go to the Golden State Warriors?

While the Heat and the Knicks remain the two active suitors likely to pursue Antetokounmpo in a trade, Bucks insider Eric Nehm believes the Greek superstar could end up with the Golden State Warriors.

However, the deal wouldn’t be cheap for the Warriors.

In Nehm’s report, he broke down the framework of what an Antetokounmpo trade to the Warriors would look like:

Bucks receive:

  • Jimmy Butler
  • Jonathan Kuminga
  • Moses Moody
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • 2028 1st-round pick
  • 2030 1st-round pick (If 1-20)
  • 2031 pick swap
  • 2032 1st-round pick

Warriors receive:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo
  • Kyle Kuzma

While the idea of Antetokounmpo playing with Stephen Curry sounds promising, it might not be a good investment for Golden State. Given all the first-round picks the team has to give up, the Warriors might struggle in the future when rebuilding.

Antetokounmpo is already in his 30s and has at most 10 years left in the tank. While that may be a lot of time left to play in the league, there’s no guarantee that he will spend the entirety of his remaining years in the Bay Area.

Curry has a few years left in him, especially since he’s turning 38 soon. With Steph out of the picture, it doesn’t sound like an appealing idea for Giannis to play for a team that would put him in a similar situation to the one he’s in now with the Bucks.

Having all that in mind, while it still may be a possibility, it might be a tricky situation for both parties. If the Warriors were to pull the trigger on an Antetokounmpo trade, it would be a win-now type of situation.
