The highly anticipated return of FIBA’s EuroBasket tournament begins in earnest on Aug. 27. Serbia enters as the clear favorite, led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, and will open play in Group A of the group stage with a matchup against Estonia.
Following the opener versus Estonia, Serbia will face Portugal, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Turkey, led by Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun.

The game tips off Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 2:15 p.m. ET; 8:15 p.m. CEST; 9:15 p.m. EEST.
United States and global viewers can watch via Courtside 1891, FIBA’s official streaming platform. The service covers all EuroBasket games and is also available through DAZN on the Courtside app.
In Serbia, viewers can watch on Arena Sport. In Estonia, the game will air on TV3.
Serbia the Current Favorite
Serbia begins the tournament as the clear favorite. They are first in the EuroBasket power rankings, ahead of Germany and France.

Led by Jokić, widely considered the best all-around player in the NBA, Serbia hopes to add a gold medal to his long list of honors, which already includes a Finals MVP and three MVPs in five seasons. Jokić is coming off another spectacular year for the Denver Nuggets, where he was runner-up for MVP after averaging a triple-double on 57.6% shooting, with 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists.
For Serbia, however, international play has not been as smooth. Jokić will look to erase the disappointment of a Round of 16 exit to Italy in the 2022 EuroBasket. The team did, however, earn bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jokić will have plenty of help this time. He’s joined by two NBA stars: Bogdan Bogdanović, who shot 42% from three with the LA Clippers after a midseason trade, and the Miami Heat’s young forward Nikola Jović. Both bolster a well-rounded, experienced roster, which also includes former NBA talents Vasilije Micic and Filip Petrusev, who now play in the EuroLeague.
Serbia also enters in dominant form, having won all seven of their warm-up games, most recently steamrolling through Slovenia 106-72. They’ll look to continue their winning run in Wednesday’s opener against Estonia.
