Led by Luka Dončić (24 points) and James(25), the Lakers notched up a dominant 125-109 win to improve to 30-19. The game also saw the return of guard Austin Reaves to the LA lineup after missing significant time due to a calf injury. However, Bronny was the focus once he took the floor for the Purple and Gold.
Bronny played just five minutes of the game, but it was enough for the fans to cheer for the young guard. He logged four points on 2-of-3 shooting from the field, one rebound, and one steal.
He checked into the contest with 4:36 remaining in the final quarter and made an immediate statement with his alley-oop. ‘Bronny’ chants rang out after his efforts in the final minutes of the game. A lob from Dalton Knecht saw Bronny leap up and lay one in, much to the delight of the fans.
On the game front, the Lakers’ offense was led by Dončić and James. Also chipping in were Jake LaRavia with 18 points and five rebounds, while Reaves dropped 15 points upon his return to the fold. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with a team-high 21 points, while Day’Ron Sharpe tallied 19 points coming off the bench.
Earlier, Bronny made headlines for his own logo on his shoes. It featured a lowercase B with the number nine (his jersey number) in the middle. Bronny had earlier worn the shoes when the Lakers played the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. The cameras were trained on Bronny’s sneakers before and during the game, also leading to speculations that the son of the four-time NBA champion would soon get his own shoe.
