Warriors Stephen Curry Dons Another Sneaker Brand After Cutting Ties With Under Armour

Stephen Curry was once again spotted wearing a different pair of shoes when the Golden State Warriors took on the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

Stephen Curry is back at it again, donning another pair of sneakers outside of the Curry Brand. Since parting ways with Under Armour this November, the Golden State Warriors star has taken full advantage of his freedom to wear any brand he wants during pre-games.

It appears that Curry has now made it a habit to wear other shoe brands outside of his own, as he pulled up to Miami wearing an interesting pair of kicks on Wednesday.

Stephen Curry Pays Tribute to Dwyane Wade

We’re beginning to notice a trend with Curry. It seems like the Warriors star aims to sport a pair of sneakers synonymous with certain NBA legends when taking on specific teams. Golden State took on the Miami Heat on Wednesday, and Curry showed up wearing a pair of Wades.

Particularly, Curry showed up at the Kaseya Center rocking a pair of “Stingray” Way of Wade 1s, the shoes Dwyane Wade wore in the pair’s first All-Star weekend appearance in 2013.

Similar to Wednesday’s game against the Heat, Curry showed up in Orlando wearing a pair of Reebok Shaqnosis. While Shaquille O’Neal may be a more prominent figure in Los Angeles, it was with the Orlando Magic when the big man entered the NBA in 1992.

Having that in mind, it seems that we might see a similar pattern from Curry moving forward. Looking at the Warriors’ schedule, they’re set to face off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Based on Curry’s current trend, there might be a chance that he could wear a pair of Adidas Lillards.

As for why Curry could be wearing different brands, it’s likely due to him searching for a new home for the Curry Brand. For 12 years, Curry Brand has been collaborating with Under Armour. Their final collaboration is set to launch in February 2026 with the release of Curry 13.

O’Neal, who is now the president of Reebok’s basketball category, showed interest in collaborating with the Warriors star. After Curry rocked a pair of Shaqs on Tuesday, the big man immediately took notice and hinted at a possible collaboration in the future.

“Well, he is a good personal friend of mine. I think our people are having conversations with his people. I think,” O’Neal said. “But it was dope. It was a big moment for me, a big moment for the brand. It puts everyone in a ‘What’s he gonna do?’ phase. So, I wish him well.”

For now, we’ll see how far Curry will go in terms of donning pairs of basketball shoes outside of the Curry Brand for his pre-game.
