The Golden State Warriors need to shake up their roster.
After entering the NBA regular season with much optimism, the Warriors are off to a mediocre start at 11-10. Blame can be assigned to essentially anyone except for superstar guard Stephen Curry, who is averaging 27.9 points on 47.1% shooting.
One option is to trade away star forward Jonathan Kuminga for an Eastern Conference star.
Warriors Predicted To Trade for Coby White
The Chicago Bulls have won just three of their last 10 games. After starting the season hot, the Bulls have come back to reality, and a rebuild appears more needed than ever.
Despite barely playing due to injury, star guard Coby White has been one of their best players, averaging 24.2 points and 6.2 assists on 44.7% shooting.
PFSN’s Brandon Austin predicts the following blockbuster trade could take place between the Warriors and Bulls:
Chicago Bulls receive:Â Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski
Golden State Warriors receive:Â Coby White, Jalen Smith, 2028 second-round pick
“It seems like only a matter of time before the Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga go their separate ways,” Austin wrote. “A trade seemed like a real possibility in the offseason, but a deal never came to fruition.”
Kuminga has flashed All-Star potential in the past but is failing to do so in Golden State this season. The best thing for the 23-year-old’s career is likely a change of scenery, which Chicago can provide.
“Parting ways with Coby White won’t be easy, but Chicago has Tre Jones and Ayo Dosunmu, a duo that could help fill the void, along with Giddey,” Austin wrote. “Podziemski brings additional playmaking to the Bulls’ roster, while Jalen Smith beefs up a Warriors frontcourt that lacks depth and is getting older.”
One of the few issues with the Warriors adding White to the mix is he is in the final season of his three-year, $36 million contract. Given the way he is performing thus far, the 25-year-old will demand a massive payday next offseason.
The Warriors have also been incredibly hesitant to part ways with Podziemski, but given his woes, they could realize it’s worthwhile to acquire White.
