NBA Insider Exposes Warriors’ Major Offensive Problem in Stephen Curry’s Absence Ahead of Game 5 Clash vs. Wolves

Facing elimination vs. the Wolves, the Warriors must survive Game 5 without Steph Curry, whose absence has caused major problems offensively.

With a 3-1 deficit to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the͏ Western Conference Semifinals, the Golden State ͏Warriors are in ͏danger of being eliminated. ͏With Game 5 approaching, the team must face their biggest test yet, trying to survive without their most vital offensive player, Stephen Curry, who remains out with a hamstring injury.

Stephen Curry’s Injury Disrupts Warriors’ Offensive Identity

After suffering a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring during the second quarter of Game 1, Curry has been sidelined for the past three games. The Warriors formally ruled him out for Game 5 despite his rigorous rehabilitation.

“The re-evaluation indicated that Curry is making progress in his recovery. He has been cleared to participate in light on-court workouts, including shooting drills,” the team announced on Wednesday. “He will be re-evaluated again on Sunday.”

Golden State’s struggles without Curry have been glaring. The team is 0-3 in the playoffs in his absence, unable to replicate the offensive efficiency he provides. In Game 4, the Warriors shot just 43% from the field and hit only 8-of-27 three-point attempts — well below their typical standards.

Curry,͏ who͏ exited ͏Game ͏1 after scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, was visibly uncomfortable before signaling to be subbed out.͏ Head coach Steve Kerr ͏acknowledged the loss, saying, “Obviously we’re all concerned about Steph, but it’s part ͏of the game. Guys get hurt, you move on.”

Without Curry leading the offense, the team has shifted ball-handling responsibilities to Draymond Green, rookie Brandin Podziemski, and veteran Kyle Anderson. Although Podziemski has displayed flashes of brilliance, the offense lacks a steady rhythm.

The defensive side hasn’t fared any better; Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle scored 61 points between them in Game 4, making things tough on the Warriors’ defense.

Green remains realistic about the situation, stating: “Nah, we’re not going to Superman this thing. If he’s in a place where he can play, I’m sure he will… But there’s no pressure. We got to find a way to win whether he plays or not.”

Warriors beat writer Anthony Slater was brutally honest about the issues the team is currently facing.

“Draymond Green is tied to Steph Curry. They built this roster to prop up and maximize Steph Curry, and have a lot of players that play well with him. But when he’s out, they can’t necessarily toggle up their offensive production to a degree,” Slater said on 95.7 The Game.

Now, Golden State enters a win-or-go-home Game 5 on the road without their best player.
