Warriors Insider Drops Latest Insight Into Golden State’s Stance on Potential Michael Porter Jr. Trade

An NBA insider dropped insight regarding what the Golden State Warriors are willing to trade in exchange for Michael Porter Jr.

Since getting traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the summer of 2025, Michael Porter Jr. has capitalized on his newfound role and turned himself into a star this season. Porter has caught the attention of many NBA teams, which now want to add him to their roster.

One of those teams is the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are currently open to trading a few of their assets as they aim to contend this season still. An NBA insider shed some light on what Golden State is potentially willing to offer for Porter.

Warriors Have Michael Porter Jr. on Priority Amid Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline is rapidly approaching, having only three weeks remaining until Feb. 5. One of the biggest names in the trade market is the Nets’ Porter.

Since joining Brooklyn, Porter skyrocketed his trade value after averaging 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He’s putting up All-Star numbers, which contending teams would want to have on their roster.

NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that the Warriors are prioritizing acquiring Porter before the deadline. Siegel also mentioned what the Golden State is willing to give up for the Nets forward.

“Early signals from the Warriors are that they do not want to trade more than one first-round pick for Porter, especially since such a move would involve trading (Jonathan) Kuminga and Moses Moody,” Siegel reported. “Speaking of Moody, the Warriors are very open to trading him before the deadline, as he hasn’t taken the step forward many in the front office had hoped for.”

“Porter appears to be at the top of the Warriors’ list right now if they can land him for Kuminga, Moody, Buddy Hield, and a first-round pick,” Siegel added. “Whether this is adequate value for the Brooklyn Nets and whether that organization will even trade him over the next three weeks is the big question.”

So far, several sources have reported that the Nets are open to offers for Porter. Brooklyn is aware of the trade value Porter currently has and is open to acquiring more valuable assets in exchange for their newfound star.

However, another NBA insider, Marc Stein, has refuted the narrative that the Nets will let go of Porter this season and instead plan to wait until the offseason before making a move. Stein suggested that the Nets might want to see how they fare in the lottery first before parting with a valuable asset.
