Warriors Are Likely To Win Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade if Bucks Decide To Let Him Go

The Warriors have been heavily rumored to be the frontrunners in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. Apparently, it’s due to the offer they’ve made to the Bucks. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Golden State currently has the best chance of completing a deal with Milwaukee.

Charania reported that the Bucks have been listening to trade offers as of late. While nothing has come to fruition yet, the insider mentioned that Milwaukee is more interested in deals that involve more draft picks, an indication of the team’s intention to rebuild when Giannis is gone.

Among all of Giannis’ suitors, the Warriors’ offer seems to be the most sensible option for the Bucks. As per Charania, Golden State is offering several draft picks in addition to a few players. This is more appealing to Milwaukee compared to the player-centric offers of the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ready and is prepared for his exit from the Milwaukee Bucks, whether it’s at the NBA trade deadline or in the offseason,” Charania reported. “I’m told that the Bucks are engaged with rival teams and making counteroffers to the aggressive proposals.”

“The Bucks are sifting through proposals, specifically from the Heat, Wolves, Knicks, and Warriors,” Charania added. “Throughout the whole process, the Bucks have wanted a young blue-chip talent and/or a surplus of draft picks. So my understanding is the Warriors have made a pick-heavy offer. Minnesota is more of a player-centric offer. Miami is somewhere in the middle.”

While this may be an official report from Charania, readers should take this information with a grain of salt. All we can do now is wait until the day of the deadline to see if the Bucks will decide to pull the trigger on trading their franchise cornerstone.
