Victor Wembanyama Clears the Air on His Actual Height Amid Rumors of a Growth Spurt

Ahead of the 2026 All-Star Game, Victor Wembanyama discusses his height and addresses rumors about a possible growth spurt.

French basketball phenom Victor Wembanyama is a towering presence on the court. At 7-foot-4, the San Antonio Spurs center already stands out because of his sheer size. He is currently the tallest player in the NBA and boasts an 8-foot wingspan.

However, recent rumors have suggested that the two-time NBA All-Star may have grown even taller. Now, the French star has addressed the speculation and clarified his actual height.

Victor Wembanyama Talks About His Height

Wembanyama has been selected for the second All-Star Game of his career. The 22-year-old was named a Western Conference starter for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game on Jan. 19. His selection marks a significant moment for the Spurs, as he becomes the franchise’s first All-Star starter since Kawhi Leonard in 2016.

In just his third year in the league, Wembanyama is already reaching new heights in the NBA. Recently, however, it’s not just his performance that has drawn attention but his physical growth. Already considered a behemoth on the court, reports of a possible growth spurt have sparked widespread discussion among fans.

NBA reporter Chris Haynes asked Wembanyama directly about his height. The Spurs star responded: “7’4” or 7’5,” I don’t really know. I see so many different things myself. I don’t get measured that often, to be honest.”

Wembanyama was drafted No. 1 overall by the Spurs in 2023 and quickly lived up to expectations. His elite rim protection and perimeter shooting immediately set him apart, and he soon became the focal point of San Antonio’s offense.

During the 2025-26 NBA season, Wembanyama is averaging 24.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 51.7% from the field and 36.3% from 3-point range. He leads the Spurs in both scoring and rebounding, continuing to solidify his status as one of the league’s most dominant young stars.

The 75th NBA All-Star Game will introduce a new format featuring a “U.S. vs. World” setup, with two teams of American players and one team of international stars competing in a round-robin tournament within a traditional four-quarter structure.

Wembanyama will suit up for Team World when the international squad faces off against the USA Stars on Feb. 15 at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

The Spurs star has already made it clear that he plans to give his all during the showcase. “Exclamation-point plays, playing in a solid manner and sharing the ball with energy,” Wembanyama said. “If you share that energy, people feel like they have a responsibility to share it back to you.”

While it remains unclear whether Wembanyama has grown beyond his listed height, one thing is certain: His skill set continues to expand. And when the two-time NBA blocks leader takes the floor at the 2026 All-Star Game, all eyes will once again be on the league’s tallest — and perhaps still growing — superstar.
