NBA Trade Rumors: Timberwolves Interested in 3 Players To Fuel Anthony Edwards’ Championship Push

The Minnesota Timberwolves are rumored to be interested in 3 players that could help achieve Anthony Edwards' championship aspirations.

We are nearing the second half of the season, which means teams are about to set their attentions on securing a spot in the 2026 NBA Playoffs. One of the teams that is already seemingly locked in is the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards recently showed he’s already looking forward to the postseason after sharing which teams he believes would be obstacles for them. With that in mind, it appears the Timberwolves’ front office is reciprocating Edwards’ energy and looking to reinforce their roster before the trade deadline.

Timberwolves Targeting 3 Players To Support Anthony Edwards

With only a little over two weeks remaining until the trade deadline, it seems that the Timberwolves are on the hunt for several players who could efficiently help Edwards achieve his championship aspirations this season.

With the Wolves sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference, it seems they have a fighting chance this year. They already have solid players around Edwards, including Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, and Jaden McDaniels. However, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in more help.

According to reports, the Chicago Bulls are keeping an eye out for the Timberwolves as a potential trade partner before the deadline. Previous reports noted that both teams had already spoken before, with the two nearly striking a deal for Coby White.

While nothing has come to fruition yet, it’s likely because Minnesota is still contemplating. Reports suggest the Timberwolves are also looking at other Bulls players, such as Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones.

“Another trade partner for the Bulls to keep an eye on is the Timberwolves,” Joe Cowley reported.

“They have star guard Anthony Edwards and his supporting cast of center Rudy Gobert and forwards Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid locked up for at least the next three seasons, but they have been shopping for a combo guard to play off Edwards, especially in the fourth quarter of games.”

“The Sun-Times reported last month that the teams talked about a deal for (Coby) White, but the Timberwolves also have inquired about Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones, too,” Cowley concluded.

As of this writing, no serious offers have been made by either the Bulls or Timberwolves. For now, the Wolves will look to get back in the win column after losing two consecutive games against the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs. They’ll need to maintain their spot in the top 6 in the conference if they wish to advance to the playoffs without the hassle of the Play-In Tournament.
