NBA Trade Rumors: Raptors, Hawks, Warriors No Longer Interested in $175,369,698 All-Star

Trade rumors have cooled as an insider reports the Raptors, Hawks, and Warriors are backing off a $175 million star.

The Dallas Mavericks are having a rough time this season, to say the least. They currently have an 18-26 record and are struggling to find their rhythm in the 2025-26 campaign.

If that was not enough, they are also dealing with serious headaches involving one of their star players. Now, fresh reports have emerged that most teams in the NBA do not even want to pursue that player.

NBA Insider Makes a Revelation Regarding Anthony Davis

In a recent report on “The Stein Line” newsletter on Substack, NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed that the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are no longer interested in acquiring Anthony Davis.

“It’s a struggle, frankly, to find any active trade scenarios involving Davis at the minute,” Fischer wrote. “Sources say that the Warriors, for example, have not shown any interest in trying to trade [Jimmy] Butler for Dallas’ Anthony Davis.

“In recent days, both the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors — teams previously described as the most ardent Davis suitors — have been signaling that they are no longer involved in significant trade talks with the Mavericks.”

This season has not been kind to Davis or the Mavericks. He has already missed 25 games. In the games he has played, he averaged 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds. For the 2025-26 season, he is earning a salary of $54,126,450.

After Warriors star Jimmy Butler III went down, rumors surrounding Davis intensified. CBS Sports’ Sam Quinn was among the analysts who floated the possibility of Davis heading to the Warriors.

“There’s a very easy construction here. The Warriors would send Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, and Will Richard to Dallas. The Mavericks would send Davis, Klay Thompson, and Jaden Hardy to Golden State. The money lines up almost perfectly, keeping both below their hard caps and retaining roster balance. Dallas might not even need a pick to do this,” Quinn wrote.

Another development followed when the Atlanta Hawks traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards. After that move, Shams Charania reported that the Hawks might make a run at acquiring Davis to build around a new core.

“The biggest thing is also (that) this has a major impact on the upcoming trade market, specifically with Anthony Davis. He is a prime trade target of the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks believe that making this Trae Young deal allows them to pursue a player with a large, significant salary like an Anthony Davis over the next several months,” said Charania during an ESPN segment.

However, according to Fischer’s recent report, that interest has cooled off, with Davis sitting out indefinitely with ligament damage in his left hand.

“The interest in Davis has seemed to cool since last week’s announcement that the 32-year-old will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to ligament damage in his left hand,” Fischer said.

Davis entered the NBA in 2012 as the first overall pick by the New Orleans Hornets, who later became the Pelicans. He eventually found his way to the Los Angeles Lakers and signed a massive three-year, $175,369,698 extension in August 2023. However, in a trade on Feb. 2, 2025, Davis was shipped to Dallas in exchange for Luka Dončić going to the Lakers.
