Milwaukee Bucks superstar player Giannis Antetokounmpo has been making waves about his future with the franchise. There has been chatter out in the NBA world that Antetokounmpo might be on the trading block at some point.
His future in Milwaukee, where he played a huge role in bringing an NBA championship back to the Bucks’ organization, has been the talk of the league.

Brian Windhorst Offers Update on Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Situation
What’s happening with Antetokounmpo and the Bucks’ franchise right now? Is he going to be traded this season?
ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst appeared on “NBA Countdown” on Friday and offered insights into what is happening at the moment.
“Are the Bucks really gonna stand for this, and is Giannis really gonna stand for this? The Bucks have just had two miserable performances,” Windhorst said. “They are getting the wrong direction. I know they’ve got half of the season left.
“But I am telling you there are deals that are on hold and talk progressions on hold because teams still aren’t 100% sure whether Giannis is gonna be on the team the rest of the year and these last two games made them even stutter some more,” Windhorst said.

So far in the 2025-26 NBA season, the “Greek Freak” is averaging 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, with a 64.7% field goal percentage. Per Windhorst’s comments, the Bucks have lost their three in a row, including the last two to the Minnesota Timberwolves (139-106) and the San Antonio Spurs (119-101).

Milwaukee is currently 17-24 for the season, 13 games behind the NBA Central Division-leading Detroit Pistons. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has been trying to right the ship with Antetokounmpo as the centerpiece. But things are not really working out at this point. It appears that Antetokounmpo and the Bucks’ organization are not on the same page.
If Milwaukee decides to move on from Antetokounmpo, it will likely want a trade package that helps it build a nucleus for the future. Bucks fans may be getting tired of all the drama surrounding Antetokounmpo and the team. So, they, like the rest of the NBA world, will have to wait and see what happens.
