Stunning Details Emerge About Josh Hart’s Injury and How It’s Compromising His Everyday Life

Josh Hart provided an update regarding his injury ahead of the New York Knicks’ matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. Hart told reporters about how his finger has been affecting him both on the court and in everyday life. He had previously injured his finger on his right hand during the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals battle against the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks guard immediately had surgery after the series against the Pacers concluded.

However, despite a successful operation, Hart ended up reinjuring the same finger during training camp over the summer. The incident took place during the Knicks’ scrimmage. Hart, on defense, took on Mikal Bridges, who attacked the basket for a layup. As Hart reached for the ball, he suddenly felt pain in his surgically repaired finger.

What Did Josh Hart Reveal About His Injury?

Following the training camp injury, Hart was required to undergo surgery once again; however, he opted not to do so. Thankfully, the doctors said that prolonging his injury until the end of the season wouldn’t result in any critical risks.

“It’ll probably be a process until I get full feeling back,” Hart said. “The hand will be what it is. I’m working (on shooting) all the time. That’ll come along. I’m not getting surgery.”

Discussing his injury, Hart revealed that he would lose feeling in the fourth finger of his shooting hand. To make things worse, the numbness would spread to his pinky finger, which also affects how he uses his hand off the court.

“My nerve hasn’t fully gotten back to what it was before,” Hart said. “There’s a little bit of tingling, a little bit of numbness in part of my hand. Hopefully, at some point, that nerve will get back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Right now, it’s a process.”

Despite his concerns, Hart went on to contribute 14 points, three assists, and nine rebounds, which led to a 128-116 win for the Knicks. Looking at how he performed on Sunday against the Bulls, he looks to still be capable of contributing to his team. Hopefully, this tenacious and intense playstyle won’t exacerbate his injury throughout the season.
