Stephen Curry has made the most of his sneaker-free agency. The Golden State Warriors icon has stepped out in shoes from multiple brands, leaving fans curious about his next move. Of course, most expect a player like Curry to land a lucrative deal before the 2025-26 season ends.
However, Curry’s choice of kicks is more than just brands and appealing colorways. The four-time NBA champion has used his platform to honor multiple NBA legends, donning shoes to celebrate other icons, such as the late Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson.

Stephen Curry Chose To Honor Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson in One Go
As mentioned, Curry has chosen to wear multiple brands and shoes after his longtime partnership with Under Armour came to an end. And while some shoes have been stunning to look at, a few of his choices have held a deeper meaning.
Before the Warriors’ Christmas Day clash against the Dallas Mavericks, Curry opted to arrive at the Chase Center in Bryant’s “Yellow Toe” PE of Iverson’s Reebok Question signature line.

An iconic white and yellow shoe, Curry’s choice pays homage to both Bryant and Iverson. That being said, this isn’t the first time Curry has worn a shoe related to Bryant. Last month, shortly after announcing his split with Under Armour, Curry warmed up while wearing a pair of Nike “Mambacita” Kobe 6s at the Frost Bank Center.
While admitting that seeing him in a shoe that isn’t his was odd, he was glad to honor someone as iconic as Bryant.
“I know it’s weird seeing me in anything else other than my own shoes,” Curry said after their 109-108 win against the San Antonio Spurs.
He added, “But just the idea of what he meant, I’ve talked about Kobe a lot. And that specific pair, I think it speaks for itself, what it means. Other than that, it’s just something that I wanted to take advantage of that moment and pay tribute, and I think it gave me some good energy tonight.”
Curry Is Currently Looking for What’s Next in His Sneaker Journey
After a 12-year deal, Curry and Under Armour parted ways in November 2025. The announcement was a shock for most fans, many of whom wondered about the Curry Brand’s future.
However, while Curry is a free agent, he remains optimistic about what’s about to come.
“I’m a free agent,” Curry explained. “I’m out here, new beginnings. I was blessed to have an unbelievable experience and take a chance on something that meant a lot to me over the last 13 years, and extremely proud of myself, my team, everybody who’s able to touch that business for that long.”
Of course, he’s making sure to show off and honor those who matter. Apart from Bryant and Iverson, Curry has honored players like Shaquille O’Neal and teammate Jimmy Butler.
