Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry have redefined what it means to be a power couple, using their platform to make a real change. Together, they lead several community-driven initiatives, with their flagship Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, which they co-founded in 2019, stands as a beacon of hope for countless children.
The foundation addresses food security, literacy, and opportunities for children to play in Oakland. It has provided 35 million nutritious meals, distributed one million books, and committed over $20 million to literacy programs and resources. At the 2026 ESPYs, their dedication to kids was honored with the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
Stephen Curry Opens Up on the Everyday Joy of Raising His Crew
During a recent appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, the four-time NBA champion described the experience as “surreal” and expressed deep appreciation for the honor.
“It was super surreal,” Curry said. “The Ali family, understanding what Muhammad stood for, what his life was dedicated to…in terms of change and what me and my wife Ayesha and what our foundation’s been able to do. We’re super proud of it. It’s a great encouragement to keep doing the work that we’re doing.”
Expanding on his foundation’s vision, the Warriors’ superstar added, “We want to serve the whole child and the whole school experience and transform the school experience for a generation of kids in Oakland through those three pillars. It’s where 35,000 kids go to eat, learn, and play every single day in the Oakland Unified School District.”
While the Curry family’s philanthropy is well known, it’s not easy to get a personal update from a player who has changed the game. But when asked about his four children, the two-time MVP couldn’t hide his smile and offered a glimpse into the joy and chaos of raising the Curry crew.
“They’re doing great,” Curry shared. “About to start high school for our oldest (Riley), which is crazy. They’re into a lot of different… Oh yeah, that’s the crew right there. We’re blessed. Their everyday is so much fun, new experiences for them as they figure out life. Me and Ayesha love being their parents. It’s the greatest honor in the world, so we’re blessed with some characters at home.”
