Stephen Curry Sneaker Tracker: Every Shoe the Warriors Star Has Worn Since Cutting Ties With Under Armour

After his recent split with Under Armour, Golden State Warriors icon Stephen Curry has taken to wearing different brand shoes.

Stephen Curry is on an iconic sneaker run. No longer associated with Under Armour for his signature shoe brand, the Golden State Warriors star has been taking up the opportunity to don shoes from multiple brands. And while his assorted picks might be short-lived, Curry is making the entire NBA world wait and watch for his next move.

Tracking Each Sneaker Stephen Curry Has Worn After Under Armour Deal

On November 13, Curry and Under Armour parted ways after 12 years.

As mentioned, the 37-year-old star has chosen to honor different NBA players over the past few days, trying out a new pair of shoes every day.

Nov. 14: Nike Kobe 6 “Mambacita”

On November 14, Curry — a day after his Under Armour split — showed up to practice in Nike Kobe 6 “Mambacita” kicks. This was before the San Antonio Spurs game, where Curry scored 49 points in a narrow 109-108 win.

He wore the black-and-white “Mambacita Sweet 16” colorway, specifically made to honor the late Gianna “Gigi” Bryant.

Explaining why he chose those shoes postgame, Curry said: . “I know, it’s just weird seeing me in anything else other than my own shoes. But just the idea of what he meant. I talked about Kobe a lot. And that specific pair, I think it speaks for itself, what it means.”

Nov. 18: Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok Shaqnosis and “Volt” Penny 2s from 2012

A few days later, Curry arrived in Orlando in Shaquille O’Neal’s iconic Reebok Shaqnosis. Considering he wore one of O’Neal’s most iconic shoes in Orlando, Curry was certainly paying homage to the retired NBA champion.

He chose the classic black-and-white colorway.

O’Neal revealed that Reebook is in conversation with Curry’s camp. It was a big moment for me, a big moment for the brand,” Shaq explained. “It puts everybody in a ‘what’s he gonna do?’ phase.”

For warm-ups, however, Curry picked the Nike Air Penny 2 in the “Volt” colorway from 2012.

Old-school shoes with a hint of nostalgia, these were popularized in the 90s.

Nov. 19: Dwyane Wade’s “Stingray” Way of Wade 1

While he was sidelined with an ankle injury against the Miami Heat, Curry arrived at the Kaseya Arena in Dwyane Wade’s “Purple Stingray” Way of Wade 1s.

The first-ever signature shoe from Dwyane Wade and Li-Ning, this was the perfect way to honor the Miami legend.

“[Curry] continues to show why he’s different,” Wade, emotional after Curry’s gesture, wrote in his Instagram story. “Man, thank you for showing love to my first sneaker design 12 years ago when I started my @wayofwade brand!”

Why Is Curry Wearing Different Brands?

Without a shoe deal under his belt, Curry — one of the most popular basketball players in the world — is a sneaker free agent.

It gives Curry the freedom to wear multiple brands, possibly even kick-starting various conversations with other companies like Nike and Reebok. If O’Neal’s report is accurate, sports brands have already begun speaking with Curry.

Curry, in conversation with the media, also shed some light on why he parted ways with Under Armour.

“The sneaker industry is difficult,” Curry said. “Things change over time, to the point of you give your best effort to create something sustainable, and you know a little disappointing how it turned out. I think it’s the right thing for everybody.”

Of course, the NBA world is eagerly waiting for Curry’s next move, especially since his sneaker stock has skyrocketed.
