When Victor Wembanyama, who delivered a lights-out performance on Tuesday night, and the San Antonio Spurs visit the Golden State Warriors in an ESPN national telecast, the Warriors will be somewhat shorthanded.
The Warriors want to enter the NBA All-Star break with a victory. The Spurs, coming off a win over the LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers, are also seeking a similar result.
Latest on Warriors Stars Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Kristaps Porziņģis Ahead of Spurs Game
Golden State, entering its home game at Oracle Arena, is 29-25 this season and sits in eighth place in the NBA’s Western Conference. At tipoff, however, Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler III, and Kristaps Porziņģis will all be unavailable.
According to the official NBA injury report on the Spurs-Warriors game, Curry is out due to left sciatic nerve irritation. He also missed Golden State’s Monday game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Porziņģis is sidelined for injury management related to his left Achilles tendon. Butler has been lost for the season with a torn right ACL.
Before the game, Al Horford was out on the court taking practice shots. Horford scored 16 points in the Warriors’ last outing. Head coach Steve Kerr will need a similar performance from Horford if the Warriors are to contend for a win.
16 points on Monday.

For the Spurs, Stephon Castle is listed as questionable with a right pelvic contusion. Lindy Waters III is out with a hyperextended left knee.
Curry is averaging 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, shooting 46.8% from the floor. Curry was a first-round draft choice (No. 7 overall) out of Davidson in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Warriors.
Porziņģis, acquired by Golden State in a trade from the Atlanta Hawks, will be held out until after the All-Star break to recover. For the 2025-26 season, Porziņģis is averaging 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, shooting 45.7% from the floor.
Porziņģis was a first-round draft choice (No. 4 overall) by the New York Knicks in the 2015 NBA Draft. After three seasons with the Knicks, he went on to play for the Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Hawks.
He was the Warriors’ most significant trade deadline acquisition this season after they were unable to land Giannis Antetokounmpo. Golden State sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to Atlanta to acquire the big man, whose availability throughout his career has been hampered by injuries and illnesses.
