Steph Curry Made His Feelings Clear About Mavericks Star Kyrie Irving

Steph Curry spoke about Kyrie Irving after the Golden State Warriors lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in NBA history.

That said, the future Hall of Famer has been unable to play in a game during the 2025-26 season due to injury.

On Thursday night, the Dallas Mavericks were still able to beat Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors (at home) by a score of 123-115.

Steph Curry Made His Feelings Clear About Mavericks Star Kyrie Irving

After the game, Curry spoke about Irving when he met with the media.

Curry (via Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News): “Nothing but mutual respect and admiration for what he’s done in his career… The battles that we’ve had. The deeper you get into it, you appreciate the fact that his talent kind of raise your level throughout the journey.”

Curry finished the loss 38 points, four rebounds and one assist while shooting 14/27 from the field and 8/15 from three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time.

With their loss to the Mavs, the Warriors dropped to 25-21 in 46 games, which has them as the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (but still 6-4 over their last ten).

Following the Mavs, the Warriors will play their next game on Saturday when they visit Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

As for Irving, the 2016 NBA Champion is coming off a year where he had averages of 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from three-point range in 50 games.

With their victory over the Warriors, the Mavs improved to 19-26 in 45 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Confernece.

They are in the middle of a four-game winning streak (and 7-3 over their last ten).

Following Golden State, the Mavs will play their next game on Saturday night when they host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Texas.
