Led by superstar point guard Cade Cunningham, the Detroit Pistons are off to an incredible start to the 2025-26 NBA Season. They’ve won nine consecutive games and sit atop the Eastern Conference standings with an 11-2 record.
Cunningham’s rise to superstardom has expanded beyond hardcore NBA fans and now reaches the general public. It’s time for the next step: a signature shoe.

When Will Cade Cunningham’s Signature Nike Shoe Be Released?
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Cunningham has agreed to a new six-year deal with Nike and will finally take the next step into having his own signature shoe.

Cunningham’s Rise To Superstardom
Cunningham has been a long-time top NBA prospect. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2020. Then, after just one year at Oklahoma State, the Pistons decided to build their franchise around him by selecting him first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.
It was tough sledding out of the gates at the NBA level for the 6’6″ point guard. He showed flashes of brilliance that made it clear he had top-tier upside, but the consistency was never there. He struggled with injuries, offensive efficiency, and most of all, the Pistons couldn’t win games.
After the 2023-24 season, the Pistons parted ways with head coach Monty Williams and brought in J.B. Bickerstaff. This is when everything turned on its head for Cunningham and the Pistons.
Last season, Cunningham finally broke through the wall that was holding him back and put up a career-best 26.1 points and 9.1 assists per game. He was rewarded with his first All-Star selection and All-NBA Team honor. He also finished seventh in MVP voting. Detroit made the playoffs and fought hard before ultimately falling to the New York Knicks in six games.
Now, it’s clearer than ever that last year wasn’t just a flash in the pan for Cunningham and the Pistons. They’re playing as well as anyone in the Eastern Conference, and Cunningham has taken another leap forward, averaging 27.5 points, 9.9 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Cunningham’s superstardom is here to stay, and his signature shoe is well-deserved.
