Should You Draft Saddiq Bey in Fantasy Basketball?

It feels like forever ago, but Saddiq Bey was the 19th overall pick in 2020 and we’ve seen him show some potential to get buckets when given the opportunity.

The problem? He’s averaged 30.2 minutes across his four seasons and that projects as more of a ceiling than an expectation in New Orleans with Herb Jones ahead of him and Trey Murphy III having the potential to soak up some front court minutes when this team goes small.

He’s coming off of a torn ACL and needs to prove that he is additive to the Pelicans before we can even consider going this direction. We last saw him in the 2024 season and he struggled to do something that will be required of him to see the floor this season.

In that season, he made 51 starts for the Hawks and shot just 29.9% on corner 3’s. If he can get back to his early career success rate in those spots, he gives himself a chance to see court time, but this is a team full of wing sized shooters, most of who project more favorably for 2025-26.
