Russell Westbrook Stats and Records: How Many Scoring Milestones Has The Nuggets Star Bagged?

Russell Westbrook continues to stamp his authority as one of the greatest point guards ever in the NBA. He is on pace to become an all-time scoring leader among PGs after becoming the only second in history to reach 26,000 career points.

Westbrook reached the mark on March 15, and while it is arguably his biggest achievement, it isn’t the only one.

Russell Westbrook’s Career Stats and Records

Westbrook is widely regarded as among the most under-appreciated point guards of all time. Although he was picked fourth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, Westbrook started his career as a backup at the Oklahoma City Thunder. He, however, proved the early predictions about his career wrong and is now footsteps away from greatness.

In addition to being second on the all-time scoring list among point guards, Westbrook holds the record for most career triple-doubles with 202. He has held the record since May 10, 2021, when he scored his 182nd triple-double to surpass Oscar Robertson’s long-standing mark of 181.

The nine-time All-Star also holds the record for the most consecutive triple-doubles, with 11 in a row, and is only the second player in NBA history to record 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 20 assists in a single game – a feat he achieved in his final season with the Thunder in 2018-19.

While Westbrook failed to win an NBA championship with the Thunder as Oklahoma faced multiple first-round exits in the playoffs, he was named the MVP for the 2016-17 season, where he averaged 31.6 points, 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds per game. He was the first player to win MVP from a team with fewer than 50 wins since Moses Malone in 1982.

Westbrook spent a season each with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards and then two seasons each with the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers before arriving in Denver.

    Quickly Climbing All-Time Scoring List

Though his production has dropped to nearly half now of what he recorded in his last season with Oklahoma, Westbrook has amassed a healthy 26,013 points in the 1,223 games played and stands 21st in the all-time scoring list.

Westbrook is ninth on the all-time assists list with 9,839, the second highest by a point guard behind Roberston, who has 48 more than him and is inevitably to be overtaken by the end of the regular season.

Westbrook, at 36, is understandably not in his prime but is still averaging 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game this season while shooting 46.5% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range.

Denver is currently third in the Western Conference with a 43-25 record in the 68 games played and will next face the Golden State Warriors on March 17.
