‘Keep This Logo Until the End of the Season’ — Raptors Fans Credit Team’s Impressive 2–0 Summer League Run to New Logo

Raptors' playful logo change sparks fan requests for a permanent rebrand amid team's defense-charged, undefeated NBA Summer League run.

The Toronto Raptors switched to a cartoon dinosaur logo as a summer league joke. Two wins later, their fans are dead serious about keeping it forever.

Toronto entered the Las Vegas Summer League with a deep roster featuring several 2024-25 regular-season rotation players, 2025 No. 9 pick Collin Murray-Boyles, and a few 2025-26 roster hopefuls. The team’s aggressive defense has emerged as the biggest storyline so far, but fans have also noticed the Raptors’ success lining up perfectly with their logo switch-up.

How Did a Hand-Drawn Instagram Logo Spark This Movement?

Toronto’s lighthearted logo overhaul happened on Wednesday when the social media team listened to advice from the popular hand-drawn NBA art Instagram account @nbapaints.

The account redesigned the franchise’s logo, pointing out the importance of featuring a “menacing” raptor rather than just claw marks, like the team’s current emblem.

The Raptors loved the idea and rolled out the dinosaur logo across all their social media platforms.

What Has the Defense-First Approach Accomplished So Far?

The results have been nothing short of dominant. On Friday, Toronto crushed the Chicago Bulls 116-72, forcing a summer league record 33 turnovers.

Two days later, Toronto held off the Orlando Magic 89-86 behind wing A.J. Lawson’s team-high 21 points off the bench. Meanwhile, Murray-Boyles showed his two-way potential in his first summer league action, putting up eight points, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block while shooting 3-for-5 (60.0%).

After Sunday’s victory, the Raptors couldn’t help but connect the dots. They posted on X that they were “2-0 since changing [their] logo.”

Why Are Fans Demanding the Logo Stay Permanent?

That post opened the floodgates. Fans immediately started pushing for the revamped logo to become a full-time fixture heading into the 2025-26 season.

“We can’t change it now,” one fan declared.

“Keep this logo until the end of the season bro,” another wrote.

“I think it’s the logo for sure! Let’s go Raptors!” one commented.

“Keep it for the year,” another fan added.

Other fans took a more practical approach, pushing for the new design to appear as an alternative logo or jersey patch.

“We need that alternate jersey!” one fan said.

“It should be a patch on the City jersey this year,” another suggested.

While Toronto seems to be having fun during the early stages of the offseason, much of the fan base has long wanted the team to bring back its classic cartoon raptor logo. The organization hasn’t indicated whether it plans to pursue a formal change anytime soon. However, if the Raptors keep winning in the summer league, the fan pressure will only get louder.
