The narrative surrounding Myles Turner has changed drastically with the Indiana Pacers’ recent success. After the Pacers managed to get through the Eastern Conference to qualify for the 2025 NBA Finals, Turner was credited for showing loyalty and commitment to the team despite several trade reports and rumors surrounding him over the years.
Since Turner and the Pacers had never seen as much success in the playoffs until this point, they were put under a fair amount of scrutiny, with several roster members constantly involved in trade rumors.
While the organization may have been willing to part ways with their star center in the past, their performance in the ongoing playoffs has undoubtedly improved his value and initiated trade rumors once again. However, the fans have completely changed their perspective and opinion on Turner.
Should Indiana Pacers Entertain Myles Turner Trade Discussions?
Although the same fans might have demanded Turner be traded a few seasons ago, they are now convinced that he will remain with the team regardless of whether the Pacers win or lose the 2025 NBA Finals.
NBA reporter Grant Afseth reported that the Atlanta Hawks have shown an interest in acquiring Turner. Given that the Hawks were unable to qualify for the postseason and ended up being eliminated from the play-in tournament this season, adding Turner to their roster will undoubtedly improve their chances for next season.

Be that as it may, Pacers fans are unwilling to entertain this notion. Upon hearing this report, many took to social media and shared their disbelief in the idea that Turner will be traded: “He’s not going anywhere.”

Turner is considered one of the best shot blockers and rim protectors in the NBA. Adding him to any team would make them better. However, the Pacers are highly unlikely to let go of him, especially now that their decision to hold onto him has finally paid off.
Since the Pacers slowly and consistently added pieces to their roster to finally establish themselves as a championship-contending team, it would make no sense to let go of the star who has been on their roster the longest. As a result, fans are convinced that Turner will remain with the Pacers for the foreseeable future.
If the Pacers lose the ongoing NBA Finals one-sidedly and Turner puts up subpar performances, there is a chance he will be traded. However, that is not expected to happen as things stand. Only time and the outcome of the ongoing Finals will decide what Turner’s future with the team looks like.
