Victor Wembanyama draws major praise after his monster Game 3 performance snaps the Knicks' historic 13-game playoff winning streak.

The New York Knicks played on their home court at Madison Square Garden in Game 3 of the NBA Finals with President Donald Trump in attendance. However, the San Antonio Spurs became the kings of New York, at least for Monday night.

Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama received the lion’s share of the credit after scoring a game-high 32 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, dishing out 6 assists, and blocking 3 shots in San Antonio’s critical 115-111 road win.

Victor Wembanyama’s Monster Game 3 Receives Kudos From NBA World

With the loss, New York saw its franchise-record 13-game playoff winning streak come to an end. San Antonio’s victory cut the Knicks’ edge to 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, drawing widespread adulation for Wembanyama.

NBC Sports broadcaster John Fanta hailed the 7-foot-4 phenom postgame, writing on X, “It’s been funny to hear Wemby getting criticized by some this series. The man’s 22 and going to run the league for years to come. Just think what happens when the Spurs bolster their frontcourt.”

The fan account WembyMuse posted, “When the lights are brightest, he’s at his best.”

SpursMuse similarly gushed, “THE SAVIOR OF SAN ANTONIO.”

A prominent influencer also offered high praise for what Wembanyama accomplished in Game 3, remarking, “Victor Wembanyama really walked into MSG in one of the craziest NBA environments ever down 0-2 and went [for] 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists on 61% [shooting] from the field. He’s one of the greats already.”

While Wembanyama came out aggressive from the opening tip and dominated on both ends en route to his first career Finals win, Stephon Castle also delivered for San Antonio.

Castle tallied 23 points, including a deep 3-pointer to extend the Spurs’ lead to 111-104 with 1:53 remaining. The sophomore guard then connected on a pair of clutch free throws to give his squad a 4-point edge (115-111) with 6.8 seconds left.

The Spurs and Knicks will square off in Game 4 on Wednesday night at MSG, with Wembanyama and Co. looking to even up the series 2-2.
