Obi Toppin’s Contract Details Unearthed

Drafted in 2020 by the New York Knicks, Toppin spent three seasons at Madison Square Garden looking to kick-start his NBA career. But it fell flat, and he took his talents to Indianapolis, where he found a new home. Toppin signed a four-year, $58 million contract with the Pacers and started a new chapter in his basketball journey.

According to Spotrac, he will make an annual income of $12.9 million for the 2024-25 season and take 9.23% of cap space. By the 2027-28 season, Toppin will earn around $16 million annually and become an unrestricted free agent for the following season. Before he signed the massive contract with the Pacers, he was under a rookie contract with the Knicks.

He signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the Knicks and began his NBA career. Back then, his average salary was $5.5 million, which is less, considering his impact with the Pacers. By calculating both contracts, he would have around $80 million in career earnings in the NBA.

After turning 27 in March, Toppin’s career is just getting started. At this rate, he could become a crucial player for the Pacers. Moreover, he signed a sneaker and apparel deal with the Jordan brand, making key endorsement deals off-court. He signed the agreement in 2021 and expressed his happiness back then.

Toppin stated, “It’s truly a blessing for the Jordan Brand family to be taking me in as one of their own. To be part of the brand that the best player to ever live created is something I can’t even put into words.”
