The Denver Nuggets continue to fight back when the chips are down, and it was a game to remember for Julian Strawther, who exploded with a barrage of three-pointers. Meanwhile, Aaron Gordon didn’t have a satisfactory shooting performance, but was effective on the defensive side of the game.
He had a slight injury scare in the game’s final quarter, when fans caught him checking up on his hamstring. Despite responding “I feel OK” in the post-game interview, missing Gordon could give the Thunder an advantage in Game 7.
But before the game, he had a cherishable moment with his two nephews, Zayne and Brody, which caught the cameras’ attention.

Gordon Goofs Around With Nephews Before Penultimate Game
Being in the right frame of mind helps players relax and focus on the task ahead. Some players listen to music, some chat with their teammates, and Gordon decided to interact with his nephews.
Cameras caught him fist-bumping Brody while Zayne exchanged words with the forward. It became a heartwarming exchange between the kids and their uncle after the tragic times for the Gordons.

On May 30, 2024, Gordon’s brother, Drew Gordon, tragically lost his life in an accident, shaking the family’s roots. The clan took time to heal from the distress and move on from the grievous situation.
Drew and the entire household had attended the 2023 NBA Finals, where the Nuggets dethroned the Miami Heat to win their first-ever NBA title.
Since his brother’s untimely passing, Gordon wanted his brother’s wife, Angela, and her kids to move to Denver to spend more time with them.
Gordon Does the Dirty Work for the Nuggets
Even though Aaron Gordon scored just five points in the match, he had a +/—of 17, which speaks volumes about Gordon’s influence on this Nuggets side. He had seven rebounds, seven assists, and one steal on the defensive end.
Gordon gives his blood, sweat, and tears for this franchise, and his defense never lets him down. On some of the not-so-prettiest stats on the box score, Gordon had two deflections, one def loose ball recovered, one loose ball recovered, and contested six shots on the floor.
These stats give him an edge, and he remains a vital cog in the system. Consequently, heading to Game 7, the Nuggets expect Gordon to shake off his injury scare and prepare to unleash himself.
The Nuggets need his game understanding to monitor the situation and stop Jaylen Williams, and hopefully, he can deliver when it matters.
