After an impressive G League stint, 7-footer Mo Bamba has officially signed a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz today.

On Thursday evening, the Utah Jazz will play the New Orleans Pelicans (at home) in Salt Lake City. The Jazz are coming off a 125-105 loss to the Houston Rockets. Before Thursday’s game, the team is signing a new player.

Social Media Reacts to Jazz Signing Former 6th Overall Pick Mo Bamba

As reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Jazz will add Mo Bamba on a 10-day deal.

On X, Charania wrote, “7-footer Mo Bamba is signing a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports and Greer Love tell ESPN. Bamba spent time earlier this season with the Raptors and has averaged 17 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks for the Jazz’s NBA G League affiliate.”

Jazz insider Ben Anderson wrote, “This fills the Jazz’s open roster spot for the next 10 days. Jazz can sign Bamba to another 10-day deal when this expires if they like what he offers.”

‘Salt City Hoops’ Jazz reporter David J. Smith wrote, “Mo is back with the Jazz. They definitely need some front court help. Like others have mentioned, no Vince means more ball handling for Ace, Cody, Brice.”

‘Priority Sports’ official X account wrote, “Mo Bamba has signed a 10-day contract with the @utahjazz .🎵 Congrats, @TheRealMoBamba!”

Jazz news X channel SleeperJazz wrote on X, “Shoutout to the Jazz fans that saw this one coming 👇 We have signed Mo Bamba to a 10-day contract. per @PrioritySports and @ShamsCharania.”

NBA news X account Courtside Buzz wrote, “BREAKING: Mo Bamba has signed a 10-day NBA contract with the Utah Jazz. Bamba, 27, averaged 16.2 PPG, 11.8 RPG, & 2.9 BPG on 56 FG% for Utah’s G-League affiliate this season. Should Bamba be signed to a full contract?”

Bamba was the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Texas. He has also spent time with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Toronto Raptors.

His career averages are 6.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 47.7% from the field in 366 games. The Jazz are currently the 13th seed in the Western Conference with an 18-40 record in 58 games. They last made the NBA playoffs in 2022.

All that needs to be seen is how fruitful this decision will be. Only time will tell if Bamba will prove to be an asset.
