Thompson had come into the night with averages of 10.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 36.7% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range in 34 games.
The future Hall of Famer is in his second season playing for Dallas.

The Mavs are now 14-24 in 38 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
