‘A Complete Waste of Halftime’ — NBA World Reacts to Michael Jordan’s NBC Broadcasting Debut

The NBA world had mixed reactions to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan's broadcasting debut for NBC during the Thunder-Rockets game.

Michael Jordan is a polarizing figure.

There are plenty of former and current players who love him, but there are also plenty of people who are not a fan of the Chicago Bulls legend. It appears his broadcasting career is following a similar path, with some loving him and some dreading his halftime appearances.

Jordan made his NBC broadcasting debut Tuesday at halftime of the Oklahoma City Thunder-Houston Rockets game, and the internet gave Jordan mixed reviews.

How Did NBA Fans React to Michael Jordan’s Broadcasting Debut?

Here’s a look at how the NBA world reacted to Jordan’s broadcasting debut:
Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Donovan Mitchell posted, “MJ on TV again is elite to see!!”

The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie wrote, “The Jordan segment totally worked. This dude probably filmed these segments he’s doing for the next month over the course of 75 minutes in between golf rounds, and I’m legit just locked in on what he has to say.”

Another fan was much more frustrated, “So basically NBC shot one long interview with Michael Jordan & they’re gonna slowly show it to us 2 mins at a time over the season?”

“They’re about to stretch this Michael Jordan segment throughout the NBA season like DJ Vlad interviews,” NBA influencer Ahmed posted.

“this is so dope to Michael Jordan telling stories in this element,” wrote CuffsTheLegend, a friend of LeBron James.

“MJ after doing two minutes of work for NBA on NBC,” NBA influenced Josiah Johnson joked.

“MJ that was so [three fire emojis],” former NBA guard Patrick Beverley posted.

“A complete waste of halftime with MJ,” one fan wrote. “They sold this [expletive] to us all summer to talk about him renting a house and shooting a free throw,”

Underdog decided to make a meme out of a story Jordan told, sharing, “Kid outside MJ’s rented house thought he couldn’t still make a free throw.”

“MJ halftime story was a nice start to this new broadcast. Better than ex players/coaches spewing nonsense anyone else can do lol,” Golden State Warriors podcaster AndyKHLiu pointed out.

It’s clear after just one appearance that the public is already incredibly divided on Jordan as a broadcaster.
