Bam Adebayo followed up Tuesday’s historic 83-point performance against the lowly Washington Wizards with an inefficient 21-point effort in Thursday’s home clash against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
While the Miami Heat still secured a hard-fought 112-105 victory, with Adebayo doing most of his damage late, the NBA world, including Kobe Bryant supporters, didn’t hold back on the star big man postgame.

Bam Adebayo’s Meager 21-Point Follow-Up to 83-Point Eruption Sparks Mockery
Adebayo went all out against Washington during Tuesday’s controversial 150-129 blowout home win, running up his point tally while the contest was already decided.
After entering the fourth quarter with a franchise-record 62 points, the three-time All-Star aggressively tried to surpass Bryant’s iconic 81-point scoring mark from 2006, the then-second-highest scoring game in NBA history.
However, Thursday was a completely different story for Adebayo, as he got off to a rough start against Milwaukee, entering the fourth quarter with just 8 points on 4-for-14 shooting (28.6%).
Fortunately for the nine-year veteran, he was able to somewhat salvage his stat line via a 13-point final frame, albeit with 9 points coming at the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Miami pulled away for its seventh straight win behind a career-high 28-point outburst from sophomore guard Pelle Larsson.
Still, many on X let Adebayo hear about his unprecedented 62-point drop-off.

“Lmao, the same Bam Adebayo who dropped 21 tonight is the guy some of y’all were upset about scoring 83? That’s the part that kills me. What I love most is 50 years from now, people will scroll through the top single-game scorers list and pause like, ‘Wait… who is Bam Adebayo?'” NBA writer Frederick Okocha opined.

“From a Bam Adebayo career night . . . to a Pelle Larsson career night. Who knew?” Heat reporter Ira Winderman reacted.
Additionally, others poked fun at Adebayo’s absurd 104-point total over the past couple of days.
“Bam Adebayo has 100 points in his last two games,” Miami fan account The Heat Realm quipped.

As for Adebayo’s response, he appeared unfazed postgame, stressing that winning is his main priority.
“To be able to move on to the next game, obviously, get the win and figure it out in a different way. It wasn’t 83 tonight, it was 21. If anybody is upset, I don’t care. But we got the W, so that’s all that matters,” Adebayo said.

With their seventh straight victory, the Heat (38-29) strengthened their hold on a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference after hovering in a play-in spot throughout most of the season. They will look to extend their winning streak to eight games during Saturday’s pivotal home clash against their intrastate rival, the Orlando Magic (37-28).
