Davis had come into the night with averages of 20.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per contest while shooting 51.7% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range.
He is in his first full season playing for the Mavs.
Anthony Davis just scored his first points of the game on a floater with 6:27 left in the third quarter.
The Mavs are still leading the Pistons by 15, that is until Cade Cunningham just threw down a mean poster over Davis.
Davis responded with a 3-pointer.

The Mavs improved to 11-17 in 28 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
They are 8-9 in 17 games on their home floor in Dallas, Texas.
Following the Pistons, the Mavs will play their next game on Saturday night when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.

On the other side, the Pistons are now 21-6 in 27 games, which has them as the first seed in the Eastern Conference.
They had their four-game winning streak snapped.
Following the Mavs, the Pistons will play their next game on Saturday night when they host LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets.
Davis was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
The 2020 NBA Champion has also spent time playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans over 14 seasons.
