NBA Fans Jab at Bucks’ Taurean Prince Signing Due To Darvin Ham Connection

Per Shams Charania, the Bucks have re-signed Prince to a 2-year, $7.1 million deal. Prince is coming off a career year in efficiency, with a .600 effective field goal percentage, along with a career-best 43.9% from three-point range, averaging 8.2 points over 27 minutes. Prince proved to be a solid role player for the Bucks, and the deal allows him to reunite with his favorite coach, Darvin Ham, the Bucks’ assistant.

One fan wrote, “No shot he was leaving Darvin Ham,” referring to Prince playing under Ham this past season, where Ham was the Bucks’ assistant. Also for the Lakers in 2023-24 in his only stint as head coach, plus working with Ham during his time with the Atlanta Hawks, where Ham was an assistant. They are considered to have a strong working relationship.

Other fans expressed how happy Ham will be that the assistant’s favorite was brought back: “Ham happy asf lmfaoo.”As did this fan, who wrote: “Ham got his guy back!”

Another wrote along similar lines: “Ham and Prince, name a more loyal couple.”

The Bucks’ quiet start to free agency has worried some fans: “Bucks going to finish 10th in the East wow.”

Another wrote: “We’re really just gonna run it back, aren’t we?”

This tweet follows the recent update by insider Jake Weinbach, according to the insider, “The Bucks are pretty much running it back after retaining Bobby Portis, Kevin Porter Jr., and now Prince.” Also mentioning in his tweet that: “…options are becoming limited outside of their own remaining free agents.”

One person to pay attention to is their franchise player, Antetokounmpo, who is reportedly watching the Bucks’ activities with keen interest. Although he hasn’t applied pressure on the Bucks, teams seem to believe he may make himself available.

According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst, the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs are closely monitoring the situation and are saving assets in the hope of acquiring him in a trade if the “Greek-freak” is not convinced by the Bucks’ activities this offseason. Potentially worrying times for Bucks fans.
