Ja Morant did not appear in the Memphis Grizzlies’ final game of the season because of a hip injury he suffered in Game 3 of their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, a viral video showed Morant sitting on the sidelines trying to hide his face. His efforts failed a few seconds later, and fans had an interesting reaction to it.
Fans Had Some Harsh Reactions to Ja Morant Video
The video in question depicts Morant realizing he is on camera and trying to cover his face, only for the cameras to change the angle to get the Grizzlies star.
This is hilarious 😭

Fans didn’t look too poorly on Morant for the most part, but came to some pretty harsh conclusions after watching the video. One claimed Morant needs to leave, writing, “He needs to get out of Memphis and find a team that he can play mostly SG on….”
Another fan called out the Grizzlies for failing to build a contender around Morant, writing, “Sad grizzlies failed him.”
Others deduced that Morant’s antics are because he knew the final outcome, writing, “Morant knows the Grizzlies are cooked without him playing” with a GIF of the Michael Jordan crying meme while standing out in the rain.
Another fan called out Morant himself, writing, “He’s done in Memphis. Talented sure, but who tf really wants to deal with all his s***?”
The Grizzlies fought pretty impressively against the Thunder without Morant, as both of their home losses came down to the last minute of the game. However, it’s pretty typical for a team to lose if they don’t have their best player. It’d be even more difficult for Memphis since they were the No. 8 seed going up against the powerhouse that was the No. 1-seeded Thunder.
The Grizzlies could take some moral victories that, perhaps with a fully healthy squad, maybe they would have pushed the Thunder a bit, but unfortunately, Memphis hasn’t made much progress over the past few years since the Morant era came into full swing.
The talent is there, and they can make the playoffs, but eventually, the excitement wears thin when it doesn’t lead to any progress. Some of it is due to Morant’s controversial antics, but that wasn’t the case this season. He stayed out of trouble, and the Grizzlies had a much better season than last.
However, the Grizzlies need to make some changes. Trading Morant might not be the best option now, but this core indeed needs upgrades.
