As the 2026 NBA Finals are about to begin, most of the league is preparing for the 2026 NBA Draft. While this class is full of big-name freshmen who are receiving the most attention, there are also plenty of under-the-radar prospects who are turning heads.
One player in particular who continues to build momentum as the 2026 NBA Draft approaches is Baylor shooting guard Cameron Carr.

Baylor’s Cameron Carr Continues to Climb NBA Draft Boards
According to ClutchPoints NBA reporter Brett Siegel, Carr is rising up draft boards and receiving first-round consideration from certain teams.
“No player at the NBA Draft Combine helped himself more than Cameron Carr,” Siegel wrote. “Not only did he essentially measure true to his 6-foot-5 size and 7-foot-1 wingspan before the combine, but Carr dropped 30 points on 6-of-12 from 3-point range in his only scrimmage before shutting things down. Carr was clearly the best player on the court, and now there is real hype about him being locked into the top 20, potentially even rising into the lottery.”
A shooting guard with a 7-foot-1 wingspan is going to turn heads, especially when he has the game film and NBA Combine scrimmage performance to back it up.
“Under Scott Drew at Baylor, Carr became one of the best scoring wings in the Big 12 and proved to be a shot-maker with the ball in his hands,” Siegel wrote. “He is one of the more underrated perimeter players in this year’s draft, and it’s not hard to imagine he could make a similar impact right away as fellow Baylor Bear VJ Edgecombe made with the Philadelphia 76ers this year.”
After two years and 18 games (including zero starts) at Tennessee, Carr transferred to Baylor for a fresh start. Under Drew’s tutelage, Carr averaged 18.9 points on 49.4% shooting from the field, including making 37.4% of his shots from beyond the 3-point arc. Quality wing play matters in the modern NBA.
Siegel reports that the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks are two teams to watch in pursuit of Carr.
“The Bulls have known interest in Carr, along with the Mavericks, sources said. Do not be shocked if even more teams express interest in Carr and attempt to move up into the lottery to select him,” he wrote.
Currently, Chicago has two first-round picks: No. 4 and No. 15. Meanwhile, Dallas has the No. 9 pick in the first round. It remains to be seen how high Carr will go, but it sounds like his strong pre-draft process has certainly helped his stock.
