Channing Frye Sees The Return Of The NBA’s “Big Three”
Frye pointed to recent championship contenders as proof that teams are returning to a familiar formula.
“I think this has a huge sign about the league in itself. And what they’re saying is, we’re going back to the big, a big three, I would say not theory, a big three wave, right? Because if you look at this year who won, right? It was OG the do all, KAT your talent, and Jalen Brunson, right? Then you back to who won last year, Jalen Williams, SGA, and Chet.”
He explained that Minnesota already has a superstar and a rising supporting cast, making Ball the missing piece.
“So now you look at what’s the recipe for winning… we have our superstar, now we need that guy who’s gonna make everyone else better.”
Channing Frye says the LaMelo Ball trade is huge sign about the league and it’s self, what it’s saying is we’re going back to the big three wave:

Frye also believes Minnesota’s culture could bring out the best version of Ball, whose commitment has occasionally been questioned.
“To get a guy like LaMelo who at times has been questioned about his seriousness of basketball, you put him with them dogs, right?”
“Now he’s not the main guy anymore, he’s with one of the top five, top ten best players in the league, who is utmost competitive, then you put him with Jaden McDaniels, his attitude and the culture of the Minnesota Timberwolves is going to change him for the better,” he said.
Ball enters Min‌ne‌‌s‌‌o‌ta after another productive season in Char‌lot‌t‌e, averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 reb‌‌ound‌‌s, 7.1 as‌sists, and 1.2 steals while sho‌ot‌in‌‌g 36.8% fr‌‌om thre‌e-po‌int range.
The Timberwolves also received Josh Gre‌en in the block‌‌bu‌‌ste‌‌r deal, whil‌e Ch‌a‌r‌‌lot‌te la‌nd‌ed Naz Reid, a 2033 un‌‌pr‌‌ot‌e‌‌cted first-round pick, three first-round pick swap‌‌s, and three second-round sele‌‌ct‌ions.
