Details on the 2026 NBA 3-Point Contest

The 2026 NBA 3-Point Contest is scheduled to kick off All-Star Saturday Night. The event is set to take place on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 5:00 PM ET. For those looking to watch the event, they can either watch it live on NBC or stream it on Peacock.

This year’s set of participants looks to be star-studded, given how two former 3-Point Contest champions will be competing. Here’s a full list of contestants:

  • Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns) – 2018 3-Point Contest Champion
  • Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) – 2023 and 2024 3-Point Contest Champion
  • Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers)
  • Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets)
  • Norman Powell (Miami Heat)
  • Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets)
  • Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks)

Among the set of participants this year, two of the biggest threats in the contest are Booker and Lillard. Those two already know what it takes to win and have proven time and again why they’re some of the best shooters in the league today.

Knueppel will be the dark horse in this matchup. He’ll be looking to become the first rookie in NBA history to win the 3-Point Contest.

Unfortunately, 2025 3-Point Contest champion Tyler Herro won’t be able to defend his title this year due to a right costochondral injury. While we’re unsure if he’ll be present at the event, his teammate Powell will be representing him in his honor.

The rules and format of the contest are as follows:

  • In the first round, all eight participants will attempt to sink as many shots as they can from all five racks beyond the arc. Each player will have 70 seconds to shoot all balls from the racks. The three players with the highest scores will then advance to the finals.
  • In the final round, the three participants will follow the same rules as in the first round. However, only one will be victorious.
