Who Are Myles Turner’s Siblings? Get To Know the Pacers Star’s Family Ahead of 2025 NBA Finals

Discover Myles Turner’s sibling bond and meet Mya Turner as the Pacers star battles Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals.

Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner’s rise to the spotlight overshadows the quieter story that only a few know. As the Pacers center battles elite competition in the 2025 NBA Finals, one question lingers: Who shares Turner’s name off the court? Is there more to his legacy than just a shot-blocking prowess?

In truth, tucked away from the instant replays is a singular bond with a younger sister whose presence has shaped Turner’s journey from a Texas high school phenom to an NBA stalwart.

As the Pacers lock horns with the Oklahoma City Thunder on June 5, 2025, the storyline often fixates on Turner’s pursuit of a ring. Yet, the quieter subplot lies in a sibling story that transcends stat sheets.

Unveiling Myles Turner’s Family Ties Amid the 2025 NBA Finals

Turner was born on March 24, 1996, in Bedford, Texas, to David and Mary Turner. From an early age, family values ran deep in the Turner household. His father, David, encouraged a “go big or go home” mentality. His mother instilled humility and the importance of community engagement.

When Myles committed to the University of Texas in 2014, he carried both parents’ lessons into a collegiate season that saw him earn the 2015 Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors.

Yet even amid burgeoning stardom, he never strayed far from family. This can be seen when he ran to hug his dad following Indiana’s Game 4 win.

Drafted 11th overall in 2015 from the University of Texas, Turner wasted no time stamping his defensive skills on the league. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2016 and has twice led the NBA in blocks (2019, 2021). In March 2024, he became the Pacers’ all-time franchise leader in blocked shots with 1,246 career rejections.

Alongside his Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2015, he earned third-team All-Big 12 the same year, showcasing a skill set that blends rim protection with a growing 3-point stroke.

Despite the Pacers’ power forward’s stature at nearly seven feet tall (6’11), his younger sister, Mya Turner, has been inclined toward the modeling industry. Mya, who was born around 2002, remains the lone sibling in a family otherwise known for its athletic pedigree.

According to Current Affairs, Mya is reportedly represented by MMG (Model and Talent Management) in New York. This isn’t news for the Turner family, as her brother is often seen at runway shows.

Meanwhile, fans got a peek into the sibling love and bond courtside a few months back. On March 22, 2025, just hours before the Pacers tipped off against the Brooklyn Nets, she experienced a sudden medical emergency. Team officials confirmed she collapsed during pregame drills and was evaluated by on-site medical staff before being placed on a stretcher. She was conscious but needed urgent care.

Myles was visibly shaken. He left the bench to embrace his sister as she was wheeled away. Despite the heart-stopping scene, Mya’s condition stabilized quickly, and the Pacers forward did start the game and led Indiana to a 108-103 victory over the Nets.

Meanwhile, the 2024-25 Pacers, galvanized by Turner’s interior defense and Tyrese Haliburton’s playmaking, earned their first NBA Finals berth in 25 years by toppling the New York Knicks 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Indiana’s march to the Finals has reignited memories of their 2000 Finals run, underlining a renaissance for a franchise eager to end a decades-long drought. The Pacers prepare to face Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Oklahoma City Thunder in the Finals.

Though the bright lights of the NBA Finals will focus on every dunk, block, and buzzer-beater, the Turner family narrative reminds fans that basketball greatness often thrives on quiet, familial foundations.
