Minnesota Timberwolves Announce Signing Of 26-Year-Old Jules Bernard
Before Thursday’s game, the Timberwolves announced that they had signed Jules Bernard to a two-way deal.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype wrote on X, “The Minnesota Timberwolves and Jules Bernard have agreed to a two-way contract, league sources told @hoopshype. Bernard has averaged 22.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.1 steals with the Iowa Wolves in the G League.”
Bernard played his college basketball at UCLA. He has spent part of one season (2023-24) with the Washington Wizards. During those 19 games, Bernard had averages of 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range.
Here’s what people were saying about the signing:
Minnesota sports covering X profile ‘Bring Me The Sports‘ wrote on X, “The Wolves have filled Johnny Juzang’s open two-way spot by signing his former UCLA teammate, Jules Bernard, who is having a huge season for Iowa.”
Minnesota enthusiast Ben Sig wrote, “Good scoop by the T-Wolves for promoting an in-system talent being G/F Swiss Army Knifer in +Jules Bernard. Still confused why they decided to cut ties w/Johnny Juzang but not a bad replacement in my opinion. Haven’t put out my 2.0 2-Way Talent List (Herd/Bucks) quite yet, but Jules Bernard was a name I had in consideration in the overall player pool. (I’ve still got some preferred guys on the Herd-Roster and/or marketplace).”
Clippers reporter Law Murray wrote, “Apparently the Timberwolves have a UCLA quota because they replaced Johnny Juzang with Jules Bernard. Next thing you know they’re gonna be the Minnesota Tygers lol.”
