Michael Jordan’s Game-Worn 1992-93 Bulls Jersey Sold For a Whopping $2.62 Million in Auction

Michael Jordan’s game-worn 1992-93 Bulls jersey sold for over $2.6 million, reminding fans of his legendary run during Chicago’s first three-peat.

Even three decades later, Michael Jordan’s magic continues to pull in jaw-dropping numbers. His name still sends chills through the basketball world. Every dunk, every buzzer-beater, every NBA Finals MVP remains etched in the minds of fans.

Now, a piece of that greatness has found a new home. One of Jordan’s most iconic game-worn jerseys from the 1992-93 Chicago Bulls season just sold for a staggering amount. The astronomical figure says everything about how deep his legacy still runs.

Michael Jordan’s Jersey Becomes 1 of the Most Valuable in the World

The jersey Jordan wore for parts of the 1992-93 season, specifically during 17 road games with the Bulls, was sold at a Heritage Auctions event for $2.623 million, including buyer’s premium.

It wasn’t just the jersey that turned heads. The full set, including matching shorts, came photo-matched to 11 games, making this an incredibly rare item with deep roots in Bulls history.

Two authentication agencies, MeiGray and Sports Investors Authentication, verified the set. Though not every single game could be fully matched, experts believe Jordan likely wore the uniform during every road game from early November 1992 to late March 1993. That includes 32 total matchups across the regular season, meaning this isn’t just memorabilia — it’s a full chapter from a golden era.

Even more impressively, this is the only known uniform from Jordan’s first three-peat to be confirmed through photo-matching. That alone adds weight to its historic value.

The 1992-93 campaign was special. Jordan led the league in scoring for the seventh consecutive year, tying the legendary Wilt Chamberlain for the longest such streak. He poured in 32.6 points per game that year, then lifted the Bulls to their third straight NBA title. No one had seen anything quite like it.

In that season’s NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns, Jordan averaged 41 points across six games — which is still a Finals record today. That series marked the peak of Chicago’s first three-peat. Jordan’s dominance was total, and his cultural impact global.

This jersey also graced the cover of Sports Illustrated on Oct. 18, 1993, capturing Jordan mid-flight in his signature road red. Yet, this isn’t the most a Jordan jersey has ever gone for. In March 2025, an autographed Bulls jersey Jordan wore during a preseason game in his rookie year sold for $4.215 million, nearly double the latest sale.

Jordan Memorabilia Still Breaking Records

This isn’t the first time collectors have gone all-in for Jordan gear. His “Last Dance” 1998 NBA Finals jersey holds the current record, selling for over $10 million in 2022. Even his worn sneakers and rookie cards have fetched millions. In 2024, six individual Air Jordans worn in the ’90s sold for $8 million, setting another benchmark.

Whether it’s a pair of game-worn shoes or a historic jersey, everything Jordan touched still carries rare value. The numbers might keep changing, but the feeling he gave basketball fans, that thrill, remains priceless.
