Everything’s on the line. The Miami Heat just knocked out the Chicago Bulls and now turn their attention to the Atlanta Hawks for one final win-or-go-home play-in showdown.
Friday night at Kaseya Center is where it all goes down. Miami’s defense looked sharp against Chicago, and Tyler Herro was cookin’. But going into this all-or-nothing matchup, availability is key, and a few missing names could tilt the scale. Here’s the latest on the Heat’s injury report.

Miami Heat Injury Report Ahead of Clash vs. Hawks
The good news: Miami still has its top guns healthy, and head coach Erik Spoelstra’s core rotation looks locked in. The bad news: Depth might be an issue, especially in the frontcourt. Here’s where things stand:
Kevin Love (Personal – OUT)
The veteran power forward missed the game against the Bulls due to personal reasons. As of now, he remains questionable for Friday’s matchup against the Hawks. While Love hasn’t been a major minute-eater, his rebounding and floor spacing could be missed in a tight playoff-style grind.
Nikola Jovic (Hand – OUT)
Jovic has also been ruled out, continuing to deal with a hand injury. The second-year forward has shown flashes this season, but he won’t be an option for Spoelstra. With Atlanta’s size in the frontcourt, Miami could’ve used his length defensively.
Dru Smith (Achilles – OUT)
Smith’s already out for the season. He underwent a successful surgery for a ruptured Achilles. He wasn’t a part of the main rotation, but depth at the guard spot always matters. Especially when Trae Young is the guy you’re up against.
So while Miami’s top core remains intact, the bench is thinner than Spoelstra would probably like heading into such a high-stakes game. That means even more weight on the shoulders of guys like Herro, Andrew Wiggins, and Bam Adebayo.
Heat Riding Momentum, But Need to Stay Locked In
In their dominant win over Chicago, Tyler Herro was the spark plug, dropping 38 points on 13-of-19 shooting. He also added five boards and four dimes. Just a complete performance in a do-or-die setting. Miami played its classic gritty defense to smother Chicago early.
If that version of the Heat shows up Friday, Atlanta could be in trouble. Still, the Hawks are 2-2 against Miami this season and have seen this iteration of Spoelstra’s squad plenty since the trade deadline.
Atlanta’s last two games against Miami weren’t pretty. Blowout losses. And while the Hawks have frontcourt issues, they’ve still got Young, and if he gets going, it’s game on.
The Heat just need to stick to their formula: tough defense, controlled tempo, and Herro’s hot hand, while navigating some frontcourt absences. If they do that, Miami could be booking a trip to Cleveland next.
