Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report: Exploring Player Availability Ahead of Play-In Clash vs. Mavs

Get the latest Memphis Grizzlies injury update ahead of Friday’s must-win play-in game vs. the Dallas Mavericks. Who’s out and who’s in?

The Memphis Grizzlies came this close to pulling off a clutch comeback against the Golden State Warriors in their first play-in matchup. But a costly five-second violation and two cold-blooded free throws from Stephen Curry sealed the deal, sending Memphis tumbling into win-or-go-home territory.

Now, it’s a quick turnaround with the Dallas Mavericks waiting in the wings. With their season on the line Friday, Memphis needs everything and everyone it can get. Let’s break down who’s suiting up.

Ja Morant’s Status Raises Eyebrows After Ankle Scare

Star guard Ja Morant gave Memphis fans a brief scare Tuesday when he tweaked his ankle in the third quarter. After heading to the bench and getting checked out, Morant returned and even knocked down a couple of clutch shots in the final minutes. But come Friday, his availability will be the main focus against the Mavs.

While there is no official word about whether Morant is out or not, Memphis will likely keep a close eye on how his ankle is during practice. The Grizzlies can’t afford to lose their main guy, not after the Mavericks steamrolled a 14-point win over the Sacramento Kings.

Alongside Morant, Desmond Bane remains red-hot, coming off a 30-point outing where he did everything but drop from the rafters. If Bane and Morant are clicking again, Memphis will have a shot, provided the rest of the squad holds up.

Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report For Friday’s Clash Against the Mavericks

Here’s the official rundown of who’s not available for the Grizzlies against Dallas:

Zyon Pullin (Knee – OUT)

Pullin has been ruled out with a knee injury. While he isn’t a primary rotation guy, Memphis is stretched thin, and any depth loss matters in a one-game playoff.

Jaylen Wells (Wrist/Concussion – OUT)

Wells has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The rookie had started carving out a role before his dual injury sidelined him, and he would’ve added size and shot-making to a thin second unit.

Brandon Clarke (Knee – OUT)

Clarke is recovering from a knee procedure. The good news is, surgery wasn’t needed, and he’s expected back for the 2025–26 season. Bad news is, his defensive energy and interior presence would’ve been huge against a Mavericks squad that thrives in the paint.

Memphis’ starting lineup for Friday is projected to feature Scotty Pippen Jr., Morant, Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Zach Edey. Edey adds rim protection, and Jackson Jr.’s two-way impact will be vital. But Memphis needs a near-flawless performance from its core with the bench already running light.
