The Dallas Mavericks have one of the most injury-riddled rosters in the league this season. Injuries continue to deprive the team of the opportunity to play at full strength, dropping them to 12th position in the Western Conference with a 15-25 record. They will again be dealing with several key injuries coming into their matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. Find out the latest updates regarding the status of the Mavs’ players.
What Is the Status of the Mavericks’ Injured Players?
Anthony Davis has missed several games already, and Kyrie Irving has yet to play a single game.
Aside from Davis and Irving, several key role players have also missed significant time. These injuries will cause several of their players to miss their clash against the Nuggets on Wednesday night.
Joining the two stars on the team’s injury list are P.J. Washington, Dereck Lively II, Brandon Williams, Max Christie, and Dante Exum.
Washington is listed as questionable due to a right ankle sprain. His participation will likely be a game-time decision, and in this case, how he looks in the pre-game warm-ups will determine whether he plays. If he doesn’t suit up, this will mark his fifth straight missed game.
Williams is also listed as questionable due to an illness. Similar to Washington, he has not been ruled out of the game at the time of writing. If he doesn’t play, it’ll be his third straight absence.
Christie is dealing with an illness as well, but his chances of playing are less likely, as he’s listed as doubtful. Missing Wednesday’s game will end his nine-game active streak. Coincidentally, the last time he missed a game was also against the Nuggets on Dec. 23.

While the injuries to Washington, Williams, and Christie are short-term, several other team members will continue to miss significant time.
Lively, who underwent right foot surgery, has not played since Nov. 21. Exum has not played at all and is expected to miss the 2025-26 season as he recovers from a right knee surgery.
Meanwhile, Irving still has no timeline for his return, and there’s still no word if he’ll play this season. Considering that he tore his ACL in March of last year, his sitting out this entire season won’t be a surprise.
On a positive note for the Mavericks, Davis’ latest injury isn’t quite as severe. Initially, reports suggested that he might require surgery on his left hand, which could result in him missing the entire season.
However, after getting evaluated, it was determined that he does not need surgery. Additionally, it was announced that he would only require about six weeks to recover.
