Luka Dončić Has Shared an Emotional News Through Social Media

Dončić, on the morning of Saturday, turned to social media to share deeply emotional news about his life. He announced the birth of his second child, a baby girl named Olivia, on Instagram. The Lakers star had quietly flown back to his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He did that so that he could be by the side of his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes.

Dončić and Goltes have always kept their private lives away from the spotlight. The couple already shares a two-year-old daughter, Gabriela. They have been intentional about shielding her from public attention.

Dončić and Goltes first crossed paths as children while spending time in Croatia, a friendship that eventually blossomed into a long-term relationship. They took the next big step in July 2023 when they got engaged.

When Dončić shared the joyful update on Instagram, confusion briefly arose on another platform. On X, a fake narrative began to gain traction. A screenshot of what looked like Dončić’s Instagram story began circulating, and it showed a baby photo labeled “Mateo Austin Doncic,” paired with a post claiming that the Lakers star had named his “son” after teammate Austin Reaves by using “Austin” as a middle name.

The story sounded wild enough to catch attention, but it quickly unraveled. In reality, Dončić had announced the birth of a daughter, not a son, making the entire “Mateo Austin” angle clearly fake.

Still, it wasn’t hard to see why the hoax gained brief traction. Dončić and Reaves are known for their chemistry and light-hearted camaraderie on and off the court, making an inside-joke-style name somewhat believable for a split second.

Now coming to his on-court performance, Dončić’s dominance this season remains one of the league’s biggest storylines. In the 16 games that he has played, he has averaged 35.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.9 assists.

For now, the stat sheet can wait. Basketball has taken a back seat to respect as Dončić embraces a priceless moment in life.
