Luguentz Dort Fantasy Outlook: Should You Draft the Oklahoma City Thunder Small Forward This Year?

Should you draft Luguentz Dort in fantasy basketball this year? Latest fantasy projection for the Oklahoma City Thunder small forward.

It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.

Should you draft Luguentz Dort this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Oklahoma City Thunder Small Forward.

Should You Draft Luguentz Dort in Fantasy Basketball?

Great teams are centered around elite players with role players who adapt to help make the ultimate goal a reality.

The Thunder certainly qualify as such and Lugentz Dort is a great example of a player that means more to his real life team than your fantasy squad. He’s always been a hard-nosed defender, but he’s leveled up his shooting over the past two seasons as he’s filled into a true ‘3-and-D’ player.

The moon ball triples aren’t always aesthetically pleasing, but it works for him (40.3% 3’s since the start of the 2024 season). You’re going to get two 3PM most nights and a steal more often than not, but the counting numbers and percentages around that baseline are underwhelming.

Oklahoma City is loaded with depth and that introduces yet another risk factor. In terms of ADP, Dort is being drafted at the top of a tier that includes rookies like Egor Demin and Jared Butler, members of bad teams that are motivated to see what their incoming class has.

I’d rather draft the rookies: players like Dort emerge annually, but the upside that comes with these high-pedigree rooks is rarely up for grabs on the waiver wire.
