Los Angeles Lakers Announce Injury News Before Jazz Game

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without one of their guards for at least one week.

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will play the Utah Jazz (in Salt Lake City).

The Lakers are coming off a 116-114 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Gabe Vincent finished the game with five points and one steal while shooting 2/5 from the field and 1/3 from three-point range in 19 minutes of playing time.

Los Angeles Lakers Guard Ruled Out For One Week

Before Thursday’s showdown with the Jazz, the Lakers announced that they will be without Vincent for at least one week.

Via @LADEig: “Just in: Gabe Vincent be re-evaluated in approximately one week as he’s dealing with lower back tightness. The Lakers will be without Austin, Ayton and now Gabe tonight in Utah.”

Vincent is currently averaging 4.7 points and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 35.0% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range in 14 games.

He is in his third season playing for the Lakers.

Vincent spent the first four years of his career playing for the Miami Heat.

He played a major role in the franchise reaching the NBA Finals in 2023.

His career averages are 7.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 39.5% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range in 292 games.

As for the Lakers, they come into Thursday’s showdown with the Jazz as the third seed in the Western Conference with an 18-7 record in 25 games.

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games (and are 11-3 in 14 on the road).

Following the Jazz, the Lakers will play their next game on Saturday when they visit James Harden and the LA Clippers in California.

On the other side, the Jazz enter play as the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 10-15 record in 25 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and 7-7 in 14 games at home).

Following the Lakers, the Jazz will play their next game on Saturday night when they host the Orlando Magic.

The Lakers are coming off a season where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.
