With the Los Angeles Lakers looking to remain competitive in the NBA’s Western Conference, they face a big challenge against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night. But will Lakers forward LeBron James be on the court?
That’s been a question mark as James has missed some games this season due to injury. Will Tuesday night’s clash in Los Angeles be another case of James sitting out?
Will Lakers’ LeBron James Be Out for Spurs Game?
Unfortunately for Lakers fans, James is going to be sidelined on Tuesday night. According to the latest NBA injury report, James will miss the game due to arthritis in his left foot. Besides James, Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Marcus Smart are also going to be out due to injuries. Deandre Ayton is listed as questionable due to right knee soreness.
Besides James missing this Western Conference matchup, this also affects James’ status for being eligible for any end-of-season awards. He’s going to fall below the 65-game threshold implemented by the NBA, so James will not be able to be considered for All-NBA awards in the 2025-26 season.

The Lakers enter Tuesday night’s game at Crypto.com Arena with a 32-20 overall record, putting them in fifth place in the Western Conference. As for the Spurs, they are 36-16 overall and in second place in the Western Conference. But the Lakers are in first place in the Pacific Division, while San Antonio leads the Southwest Division.
James is averaging 21.8 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 6.9 assists per game, and is shooting 50.2% from the floor for Los Angeles this season. James and Dončić have been working well together this season when both are on the court at the same time.
But Lakers head coach JJ Redick is going to have to work around not having his two big superstars available for this clash against the Spurs. James’ absences this season have not been helpful to the Lakers’ overall look on the court, either.
Still, the fact that Los Angeles holds down the first-place spot in its division is good news for Lakers fans. It’s going to be a tough game for the Lakers against a Spurs team that has shown considerable maturity in its play.
Wembanyama continues to make his mark all across the NBA, too. In his third season in the league, the French big man is averaging 23.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 blocks, while shooting 50.7% from the field, firmly keeping himself in the MVP conversations.
