LeBron James has been quite silent about his future so far. The Los Angeles Lakers star will be a free agent this summer, and his future is in major question.
The NBA world has been left to read between the lines while insiders debate the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Lakers as his next destination. Amid all the chaos, James has dropped an interesting message on his Instagram.

LeBron James Recalls Historic Moment With Cavaliers
The Instagram account Throwbackhoops posted a highlight reel from Game 3 of the 2016 NBA Finals. James, Kyrie Irving, and J.R. Smith combining to dismantle the legendary Warriors. The Cavs won that game 120-90. James dropped 32 points, with another 30 from Irving.

The series was tied 1-1 at the time, and that game was the first glimpse that the impossible comeback was actually possible.
LeBron replied directly to the Throwbackhoops post with five words: “WHAT A FKN TEAM MAN!!!!” Just raw emotion for a group of players and a moment that defined one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.
The Cavaliers have been one of the most talked-about potential destinations for James this summer. He grew up in Akron. He helped Cleveland win its only championship in 2016. He has spent 11 of his 23 seasons in that city across two separate stints. The emotional connection is undeniable.

The financial reality is a major problem. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported this week that James is not prepared to take a pay cut. The Cavaliers cannot offer him the $52 million he made this year, given their current salary cap situation. They are already the only team over the second apron.
A sign-and-trade is the most realistic solution, but it would require Cleveland to move key players from a roster that just made the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Golden State Warriors remain the other name generating the most buzz. They have been aggressively pursuing James for over a year. Everyone knows about the admiration James and Stephen Curry have for each other.
A pairing of the two greatest players of our generation, on the same team, will surely be a treat to watch.
Marc Stein of the Stein Line has listed Golden State, Cleveland, New York, and the LA Clippers as the four most realistic landing spots if James leaves Los Angeles. The Lakers, per multiple reports, are now prioritizing rebuilding around Luka Dončić and may not push hard to retain James.
With that said, it will be interesting to see what decision James makes on his future. Windhorst has claimed that we will find out before the NBA Draft on June 22, which is less than a month away.
