Should You Draft Kyshawn George in Fantasy Basketball?

We saw Kyshawn George take some minor steps as last season wore on, but this is a bad team with roughly a dozen players vying for playing time.

Veterans like CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton are flight risks and that’s what you’re betting against in rostering George (post-Break: 10.1 points, 1.9 3PM, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.3 steals).

He was a first round pick after shooting 40.8% from 3 as a stretch big at Miami. Asking him to be that efficient at the pro level isn’t wise, but he’s in a spot that is going to prioritize development over success and the injury risk of those ahead of him on this depth chart could position him to play 30 minutes more often than anyone else at this stage in the draft.

Personally, I’d rather take a wait-and-see approach on George, but you don’t have to squint too hard to see him taking a big step forward in Year 2.
