Klay Thompson made NBA history during Monday's game between the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.

On Monday night, the Dallas Mavericks played the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center.

The Mavs lost by a score of 119-113.

Despite the loss, Klay Thompson had 20 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal while shooting 7/17 from the field and 5/12 from three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

Klay Thompson Made NBA History Against Pelicans

In addition, Thompson also made NBA history.

Thompson is in his second season playing for Dallas.

The future Hall of Famer is currently averaging 11.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 36.9% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range in 28 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (but still 6-4 over their last ten).

Following the Pelicans, the Mavs will play their next game on Tuesday night when they host Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in Texas.

Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State.

He spent the first 13 years of his career playing for the Golden State Warriors.

The 35-year-old won four titles (and made five NBA All-Star Games) in that span.
