Last week, a popular rapper and singer with over 32.6 million Instagram followers posted a bikini picture in which she was seen relaxing in a swimming pool. However, the photograph created a stir on social media when keen-eyed netizens spotted NBA star Klay Thompson in the background, relaxing while lying on a sun lounger.
On Saturday, Thompson seemingly confirmed the relationship by posting a couple of Instagram stories. In the photos the four-time NBA champion shared on his story, he was seen kissing the rapper, who had her back facing the camera, and another showed them holding hands.

On Saturday, popular culture portal Pop Base posted screenshots of the photos that Thompson had shared on his Instagram account and wrote, “Klay Thompson goes Instagram-official with Megan Thee Stallion.” This post has since garnered over 21.8 million views on X.
What Makes Megan Thee Stallion Such a Major Star?
Megan is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, and a three-time Grammy winner. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021, she won the Best Rap Song and the Best Rap Performance Grammys for her song Savage. Savage is part of the EP Suga, and the rapper won the Best New Artist award for this EP.
Billboard Magazine notes in their biography of the artist that she “went viral in 2016 after a cypher of her freestyling over Drake’s ‘4PM in Calabasas’ was posted to social media.”Following this viral moment, Megan signed with the record label 300 Entertainment and became the first female rapper to sign a deal with them. 300 Entertainment’s client list includes rappers like Young Thug and Gunna.
Three Megan Thee Stallion songs have reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 list, which tracks the top songs in the USA weekly. The three tracks are Savage, which featured singer Beyonce, WAP, which was headlined by Cardi B and featured Megan, and Hiss, a 2024 song from the San Antonio-born, Houston-raised rapper.
Beyond her solo success, the rapper has worked with several music stars, including Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, and Lil Nas X.

While giving details about her early years, PopFiltr’s biography of the rapper says that the artist, who was “born Megan Pete in 1995 … has emerged as a dominant force in modern rap music, celebrated for her assertive flow and sexually explicit lyrics. Raised by her mother, rapper Holly-Wood (Holly Thomas), Megan was immersed in the music of Southern rap legends like Three 6 Mafia and Pimp C from a tender age.”
While Megan continues to produce musical hits, Thompson is entering the second year of a three-year $50 million contract and preparing for his second season with the Dallas Mavericks. Last season, he averaged 14.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 39.1% from 3-point range.
